Why mlm is bad

Why mlm is good - The salient characteristics of mlm make it attractive to people who:have not done well in their business or profession and have little money saved up to investhave no previous experience owning or running a business have no previous experience in saleshave little or no experience developing business relationships other than that of employer/employee/co-workerare not satisfied with their current level of incomehave unrealistic expectations of the amount of work involved compared to the revenue realizeddon't get me wrong—i'm not saying that there's anything wrong with any of these things, or that this describes even a majority of network marketers—only that it describes a disproportionate number of network marketers, and that many of them never do anything about it. Criticism has focused on their similarity to illegal pyramid schemes (hence the “scheme” reference), price-fixing of products, high initial start-up costs, emphasis on recruitment of lower-tiered salespeople over actual sales, encouraging if not requiring salespeople to purchase and use the company's products, potential exploitation of personal relationships which are used as new sales and recruiting targets, complex and sometimes exaggerated compensation schemes, and cult-like techniques which some groups use to enhance their members' enthusiasm and devotion. Perhaps one of the things to consider is that the mlm organization can effectively skirt the federal trade commission by using word-of-mouth testimonials, supposed "studies" done by scientists, fabricated endorsements, rumors and other misrepresentations that would never be allowed to see the light of day in the real world of product promotion, shady as it is. One can perfectly predict "x," and the situation is not nearly as simple as considered here, but the objective for marketeers is to forecast "x" as closely as possible in order to provide lasting value to all parties involved: to avoid missed opportunities as well as waste, loss, or failure.
